Windows 8 has been leaked. No Joke.

windows 8.png Windows 8 has been leaked. No Joke.It's come to my attention that confidential Microsoft Power Point slides describing their plans for Windows 8 and the future of Microsoft have been leaked onto the internet.

I have come across a web site called MSFT kitchen (Microsoft Kitchen).  They did what most people wouldn't do, and post these slides on their blog.  I'm assuming they got these from some guy who got them from some poor bastard who's probably been fired by now.  Going through these slides, it's apparent that these are genuine Microsoft documents.

Since I am unable to post the material on my website due to copyright laws, and really I don't want to be slapped with a hefty lawsuit, visit MSFT Kitchen to see what all the hype is about. I'm sure Apple's been there already. :)

21 years old or younger to have a zero blood alcohol level while driving in Ontario

drunk driving1 150x150 21 years old or younger to have a zero blood alcohol level while driving in OntarioAs of Aug. 1, a new law implemented by the  Ontario provincial government require all drivers 21 years or younger to have a zero blood alcohol level while behind the wheel, regardless of their licence class.

Ontario Provincial Police have said the traffic deaths have almost doubled this year, after a dramatic drop in the prior two years.

"During the month of July, for example, we had 46 people killed on OPP-patrolled highways, compared to 28 last year. We relate that to what we call the big three: aggressive driving, failure to wear seat belt restraints and impaired driving" OPP Sgt. Dave Woodford said.

The new rules also include a system of escalating sanctions for young and novice drivers who repeatedly violate traffic regulations.

Adding Google Ads or Other HTML snippets to your WordPress Sidebar

To advertise your affiliates banners or Google ads in your WordPress sidebar is very simple.  First, you will login to your WordPress administration area, then click Appearance in the left side menu.  Next, your going to click on Widgets.  Once you've done that, you simply drag a new TEXT widget to your side bar, click the arrow located on the top right of the widget box, then copy and paste the HTML or Javascript snippet from your advertiser into that box. You don't have to give it a title, but you can if you'd like. Click save to make your changes.

Note: for this to work, you must have a sidebar.php file located in your themes root folder, which most usually do.

Viola, you now have advertising on your sidebar.

Craig Morgan – This Ain’t Nothin’

I'm a huge country fan as many of my readers know, and I heard this song the other day on KICX 105.9. It had made me think about all of the negative shit I've been through in my life, and what I did to get through it. If something was to happen today, all I can say is 'It ain't nothin.'

Check out the video below. Great song from Craig Morgan.

Travie McCoy – Billionaire Feat. Bruno Mars

This is just one of those songs that is hard not to like. I think almost any sane person on this planet can relate to it. I mean who wouldn't want to be a billionaire. Love it.

How to make a collapsible div using jquery.

So lets get started. I am going to show you a basic way on how to create a collapsible div using the jquery framework, and basic html.

You will need to download the jquery framework. Once you have that, we are going to load the jquery framework into our HTML file, and make sure that our DOCTYPE is in-place. You can call this file whatever you like - maybe something like mycollapsiblediv.html (click for example).

First, open up your new HTML file within your favorite text editor, and add an HTML header. Be sure to include a DOCTYPE, and <HTML> tag as shown below.

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN"
"http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd">
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en" lang="en">
<head>
<title>
My Collapsible Div
</title>
<script type="text/javascript" src="jquery-1.4.2.min.js"></script>
</head>
<body>

Second, within the body we are going to the create a request using the jquery framework to show the div using the .show function with the id="mycontainer" upon page load. We will then check to see if the collapse text has either been clicked, or not clicked.  If it is clicked then show the div contents using the .show function and change collapse text to Hide, if not then hide the div contents using the .hide function and change the collapse text to Show. You will notice a 600 within the .show and .hide functions, this is the duration speed (in milliseconds) of the function.  You can set this number to whatever you like.  The higher the number, the slower it will be.

<script>
$(document).ready(function(){

$('#mycontainer').show(600, function(){

$('#hideDiv').attr('title', 'Hide');

$('#hideDiv').html('Hide');
})

var hide = false;

$('#hideDiv').click(function(){

if(hide){

hide = false;

$('#hideDiv').attr('title', 'Hide');

$('#hideDiv').html("Hide");

$('#mycontainer').show(600);

} else {

hide = true;

$('#hideDiv').attr('title', 'Show');

$('#hideDiv').html("Show");

$('#mycontainer').hide(600);

}
})
});
</script>

Lastly, within the body we will create a div with an id="mycontainer".  This will be the id that the jquery request will identify to either show or hide its contents. You can put whatever you'd like within this div.  This must be in place.

Since we are showing the div contents upon page load, we have set the div with the id="hideDiv" to Hide.  This div is clickable and will be used to show or hide the content below it.  If we did not show the content during page load then we would set this to Show.

For appearances I made the Hide text look like a link and set the cursor to a pointer so people will know it's clickable.

<div id="hideDiv" title="Hide" style="clear: both;cursor: pointer;color: #3A78B1;text-decoration: underline;" >
Hide
</div>

<div id="mycontainer">
Pellentesque dolor risus, vestibulum id vehicula in, ultricies at orci. Donec et risus quis sapien imperdiet bibendum. Proin fermentum sollicitudin laoreet. Maecenas magna neque, scelerisque sit amet molestie nec, cursus nec sem. Donec eleifend felis vitae urna mollis ac aliquet risus rhoncus. Quisque tincidunt nulla quis odio congue iaculis. Praesent aliquam, leo quis placerat sagittis, ipsum eros dapibus turpis, sit amet facilisis quam lacus quis dui. Nullam sit amet sagittis enim. Aliquam accumsan tempus mi, eget tempus tellus euismod et. Donec scelerisque adipiscing fringilla. Donec sed lacus sed ante eleifend lacinia.</p>
</div>

</body>

Real Southern BBQ and Live Bluegrass

You can't go down south, and not experience real southern BBQ and live bluegrass. We were told from friends of ours, that if your going to be staying in Bryson City NC, then you have to check out The Fiddlin' Pig, in Asheville NC. Asheville is about two hours from Bryson. Well we did, and I have to say I would do it again in a heartbeat. Great food and really good music.

Me and my girlfriend had ordered the Fiddlin' Feast Platter which contained our choice of 3 meats, 2 sides, and Hushpuppies. Man I love those Hushpuppies. We decided on the 1/3 Rack of Ribs, Pulled Pork, and Chicken Wings.

Let me tell you about these wings. I was thinking that the wings would be your average size wings that you get at any pub or restaurant, boy was I wrong. When they say wing they literally mean wing. You know sometimes you get the leg, or the thigh, not here, just the wing. The WHOLE wing. These things were HUGE. I posted some pictures of me eating one, or trying to anyway, along with some other great pictures of the restaurant and friends.

Hands down the best BBQ I've ever ate - well besides mine of course.

Bryson City NC, Cherokee NC, and The Great Smokey Mountains

North Carolina is absolutely beautiful. If you ever get a chance to visit, do it.  It's definitely worth the drive.

We stayed in Bryson City, NC which is in the heart of the Great Smokey Mountains, and home to just over 1500 people.  It's a very primitive town. There really isn't a whole lot to do, but look at the beautiful scenery, maybe do some extreme tubing, and mingle with the locals; which by the way, are very friendly. About 20 minutes from Bryson, you will find a small town called Cherokee, which is home to the Historical Cherokee Natives. You will find lots of things to do here. There's a Casino, restaurants, plus many great souvenir shops.

If you really want to find some entertainment, take the 2 hour drive to Gatlinburg, TN. It's a town that's kind of tucked away in the mountains. We passed through here on our way to Knoxville. We didn't get a chance to stop, but I will be definitely going back.

Below I posted some pictures of our tour of Bryson City NC, Cherokee NC, and of course the Great Smokey Mountains.
